Lady Vols vs. UConn
The Lady Vols looked pretty good in their run to another SEC Tournament title on Sunday. Now I want to see them face a real challenge-- Connecticut.
Gulp.
That's right. Unbeaten UConn.
Tennessee and UConn haven't played since 2007. The rivalry was put on hold after a Summitt-Auriemma dispute that's never been fully explained. The only chance for a match-up has been in the hands of the NCAA Tournament selection committee. The teams have come close to playing in the NCAA Tournament since the rivalry went on hiatus, but it hasn't happened yet.
UConn won their 71st straight wins on Monday night. They have steam-rolled the best in the nation this season. They beat current No. 6 Notre Dame by a combined 64 points in three games. UConn is 13-0 against Top-25 teams in 2009-2010.
The Lady Vols are 9-2. They lost to then No. 8 Georgia by 3. They lost to No. 2 Stanford by 15. Oh, and Connecticut beat Stanford by a dozen. So, the math doesn't look good for Tennessee.
There's a lot to admire about UConn. Not the least of which is Geno's hair. Like his team-- it's perfect.
But Pat Summitt's team is playing its best basketball of the season. Alyssia Brewer's inside game has been elevated enough to give Tennessee the most productive inside game in women's college basketball.
If there's a way to beat UConn, Summitt will find it.
I'd like to see a Tennessee-UConn matchup in April.
And call me crazy, but I think the Lady Vols can win.

UCON
I love the Lady Vols chances to win it all this year, but I can't wait for next year when they are all back with another year under their belts. Bring on UCON for some Orange fun.
